Bits & Bytes Marketing Pte Ltd specializes in colour management, digital proofing solutions, imaging & pressroom measuring devices, control lighting systems, marketing of large format printers, graphic inkjet/CAD media and print consultancy to ISO printing standard.
The company was founded by the Managing Director, Mr. Steven Chong in 1987, and currently employs 25 staff in Singapore. The Malaysian operation located at Puchong, Selangor employs 8 staff. The company operates from its 7000 sq.ft premises at Block 21, Kallang Avenue #02-177 Singapore 339412.
Bits & Bytes Marketing serves the printers by offering complete solutions in colour management (First distributor in Asia using GMG systems). In addition, the company markets digital large format printers (Canon, Epson, HP), Eizo's range of graphic monitors and X-Rite measurement devices – the largest manufacturer of colour management devices in the world.
Our service covers the complete printing process from creative to pre-press to press room. The colour management process extends from the digital images/file, to DTP, Prepress to final print. Bits & Bytes provides colour consultancy to many printing companies in Singapore. The company is one of the pioneers in colour management in Singapore in the nineties.
Initially, the response from printers was lukewarm. Over time with the importance of quality, the concept of colour management caught on and many printers have now enthusiastically embraced it.
The long term aim is to introduce a clearly defined colour standard which can predict a universally accepted standard of colour quality. Times Printers, KHL Printing Co, Xpress Print and SPH Magazines are some of the clients which the company now serves. Companies like SPH magazines which publish a large stable of magazines printed by several printers, want to establish a common standard which will result in greater predictability of the quality required.
Another important business segment is the marketing of large-format printers to the AEC market (architectural, engineering and construction), government bodies, training institutions, and digital fine art and photography industry. This entails all printing larger than A4 and A3 size. One of the most important area of all digital printing is the printing materials. Bits & Bytes supplies roll media (converted in-house) to the users of large-format printers - under the brand name DataRoll (uncoated paper roll) and DataJet (inkjet coated paper).
Managing Director, Mr. Steven Chong worked in Xerox for 15 years before setting up Bits & Bytes 21 years ago. Today, Bits & Bytes Marketing Pte Ltd support printers who are keen to achieve high quality in their colour and prints. Good colour management is no longer an option for the leading printers who have to serve serious print buyers and publishers.
We offer a complete colour management service to those who see the value of such a service. This also includes advice on the proper use of lighting to monitor the management of colour. Our aim is to reach out to more printers in Singapore and Malaysia over the next few years.
